What’s on at Longleat?
We might be over halfway through the year, but there is still plenty going on at Longleat. Accommodation like ours is the perfect place to see and do all the following…
Available until 3rd September, head to Longleat and you will be able to witness 14 fearsome predators. Don’t worry – all these creatures are animatronic, so you can get to know them without fear of being eaten. Expect to see the likes of a spitting cobra, a great white shark, a sabre-toothed cat and a polar bear; from millions of years ago to present day, there’s a species for everyone to learn about. You will find these creatures in their own special environment around the Main Square, where you can learn more about their habitat and hunting habits. The Predators exhibition is included with day ticket entry.
T-Rex: The Killer Question
In partnership with the Natural History Museum, Longleat’s Longhouse is transformed into five scenes that feature the most famous prehistoric carnivore – are you brave enough to see a life-size Tyrannosaurus Rex? If you are, you can do so until the 3rd September at Longleat. Was this ancient creature a real hunter, or a scavenger? If you or someone you know is a palaeontology fanatic, then you won’t want to miss this. For the duration of the exhibit you can become a palaeontologist and look at clues and answer the question for yourself. Access to this incredible area is included with day tickets.
There will be hot air balloons aplenty at Longleat this September. From the 14th to the 16th, this three-day event will see more than 50 hot air balloons of varying patterns, shapes and sizes descend into Longleat. Offering two flights a day, tethered balloons and night glows that will fascinate all who attend, the Sky Safari is as much magical as it is technical.
The Great British Autumn
Get the kids together this October half term for a celebration of all things autumn. Think spooky ghost tours for a touch of Halloween, autumnal colours and flavours galore – from 20th October and 4th November. If it is anything like last year, you can expect owls, pumpkins and much more. Access to this event is included with day ticket entry.
Fantastic Firework displays will return to the estate from 1st to the 3rd November. These magical pyrotechnics are unmissable; set to dramatic music, you won’t be able to keep your eyes off the sky!
Festival of Light
New characters, new scenes, new experiences. The renowned Festival of Light will once again be popular at Longleat this year. You can visit from 9th November to January 2019. Everything is a bit of a secret until nearer the time, so if you have never been before, be sure to check previous year’s images and videos online to see what it is like.
