No visit to the South West would be complete without a venture to Stonehenge. Shrouded in mystery this historic site lets you walk in our ancestor’s footsteps. The stone circle itself forms the highlight of any visit to the World Heritage Site and is not to be missed. The Stonehenge Visitor Centre completes a day out at this world-famous monument and presents museum-quality exhibitions that showcase many items on loan from nearby museums.
Tractor Ted’s Little Farm
Tractor Ted Little Farms offer real-life farming experiences for younger children with the added benefit of plenty of Tractor Ted fun! The combination of hands-on animal interaction, education, activity trails and event days set against a backdrop of an existing venue, make the Tractor Ted Little Farms a great day out for all the family!
Being a landscape garden means plenty of places to play games like hide and seek – but there is so much more that Stourhead has to offer. The National Trust provides Adventure Lanyards which are packed full of activities and things to spot and do all around the property. These can also be used to venture deeper into the history of the estate – situated only 12 minutes away from our hotel.
Langford Nature Reserve
Nestled between Salisbury and Warminster, Langford Lakes is an ideal place for bird watching and taking some time out. The four lakes provide the perfect setting for you and your little ones to try and spot around 150 different bird species – nothing is better if you love nature. The reserve has a relaxing atmosphere with good level paths so you can enjoy watching wildfowl from five hides overlooking the lakes without any cause for concern. You may even see some rarities, such as osprey!
